Medical evaluation: If you are experiencing persistent knee pain, it is important to see a doctor to determine the underlying cause. The doctor may order imaging tests, such as X-rays or an MRI, to diagnose the problem.
Rest: If the knee pain is due to overuse or injury, rest is important to allow the knee to heal. Avoiding activities that exacerbate the pain can help prevent further damage.
Ice and heat therapy: Applying ice to the knee can help reduce inflammation and pain, while applying heat can help promote blood flow and healing. Use a cold pack or a bag of frozen vegetables wrapped in a towel for 15-20 minutes several times a day. Apply a heating pad or warm towel for 15-20 minutes as needed.
Physical therapy: A physical therapist can provide exercises to strengthen the muscles around the knee and improve flexibility and range of motion. They can also help with manual therapy techniques to improve joint mobility.
